Canola, once grown exclusively in Western Canada, is now produced throughout the world. Canbra contributes over 130 million annually to the agricultural industry in Canada through the annual purchase and processing of over 350,000 metric tonnes (MT) of canola.

Canola seed is brought to Canbra Foods by rail car, or by truck, and is graded on site according to Canadian Grain commission standards. The majority of canola processed at the Canbra foods plant is of the Argentine and Polish variety.  We also are increasing our usage of Nexera and Clearfield  canola.

Canbra foods sources all of its canola directly through Pioneer, a fellow subsidiary of JRI.  Handling all major grains and oilseeds through terminals and elevators located across the Prairies, Pioneer is JRI's western Canadian farm service centre subsidiary.   From grain marketing, handling and logistical services, to an extensive array of crop inputs, Pioneer's knowledgeable staff are a valuable resource to area producers.

For information about growing canola, please contact the Pioneer Farm Service Centre nearest you.
